The Blue Ridge Bird Seed Company has been a local business and hang-out for birders in Blue Ridge for the past 18 years. We are a small, non-franchised bird store, dedicated to helping people learn about bird feeding the RIGHT way and have more fun while they do it. We test new products and stock only what works. We guarantee what we sell and stand behind our products and recommendations.
Blue Ridge Bird Seed Company owns the trademark for Birdman’s Blend, our unique proprietary house seed blend. The birds love this blend, and we sell it in bulk! We appreciate all our customers who continue to feed the birds our gourmet Birdman’s Blend and have a rewards program to acknowledge their loyalty. We would love you to join our “Frequent Buyer” program. When you purchase $250 in bird seed you receive $20 off your next purchase.
In fostering the feeling of small town and community, we host monthly educational seminars on varying birding subjects spanning from proper feeders and feeding techniques, to identifying bird, and avoiding bears! Additionally, we help you to apply those lessons learned by hosting Bird Walks throughout the year and hit many birding “Hot Spots” throughout Fannin County.
Jaime and Lou, owners, are totally vested in working with the Blue Ridge community and participate in the many community events, festivals, social projects, and fund raisers. Jaime, in particular, serves on the Executive Board for the Blue Ridge Business Association and often volunteers her time for special projects and events in downtown Blue Ridge.
Lou and Jaime believe in the Shop Local philosophy and hope you do too. We welcome you to stop in and visit our unique store. Many friendships have been initiated and thrived through the connection of the Blue Ridge Bird Seed Company, as “Birders” are definitely a special breed amongst their own!
We foster a community environment through seminars, bird walks, and community involvement, specialized products, and extreme knowledge.
Having lived in Atlanta for the past 40 years and being a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, Lou fell in love with Blue Ridge and all the wonderful curvy roads to be ridden in the area! Once able to purchase a cabin here in town, there was no question about it and he never looked back. After retiring Lou was finally able to enjoy Blue Ridge full time! Taking the time to relax and enjoy the slower pace of Blue Ridge, Lou started to fall in love with the nature surrounding him and enjoyed feeding and watching all the birds in his backyard. It wasn’t long before he started to learn more and become more involved in the act of feeding and bird watching!
As Jaime and her daughter often visited Blue Ridge on weekends, Jaime decided to leave the challenging field of Residential Property Management and become a full time part of the Blue Ridge community too. Upon investigating many businesses, the opportunity to purchase the Blue Ridge Bird Seed Company presented itself and everything just seemed “meant to be”!
The workers at this store answer all the questions I had. Help me with all my bird seed and bird feeders. Plus know what I should do to keep bears from getting my feeders. When in Blue Ridge stop in and see them at Blue Ridge Bird Seed Company…. A big Thank you to Jaime for all her help today..
Wonderful high quality product. I go no where else. And my birds are seed snobs now!!
Wouldn’t get my seed anywhere else. There is no waste.
Very informative staff. Came in to learn about feeding the birds in the area, left with the goods. Have been back for a second bird feeder and seed to refill. So many beautiful birds now come to the house.
When you walk into the store you feel this is not just a business for these folks, it is a passion to bring education, recognition of bird watching/caring, and ambassadors for the sport of bird watching.
It is a store with everything birding. But it is also a birding community, with monthly seminars, bird walks, and education about birding. Tom is a great resource. Just go visit one time; you’re gonna love it.
